Some news to share

After bringing the students in from recess this afternoon - I decided to check my personal email and I found an email that starts like this:

"Dear M and K:

Congratulations! Welcome to the Children of All Nations (CAN) family! We are pleased to inform you that your family is eligible for our adoption program based on the information you provided in your CAN application. Your journey is just beginning and we want you to know that we are here to assist you every step of the way."

Hot Dawg! Our application was approved! Woo hoo!

No news

We haven't heard any news yet about our application. I am so impatient to hear! The check cleared the bank yesterday so I know CAN has all the info. Keep your fingers crossed I hear something by the end of the day.

As I went to bed last night, I prayed for our application approval and some way for us to earn more money.

Is it bad to pray for money?

Application mailed today!

I had great plans when I woke up this morning - I had wanted to take a picture as I placed our application package into the mail. But, morning time, . . . begrudgingly get out of bed, fixing my lunch, and all that other morning stuff . . . I seem to always be late. Today, was no different. So, alas, I have no picture but I have a fantastic announcement.

Our application for adoption from Rwanda was mailed today. Wohoo!

T-shirt fundraiser

We are currently starting our paperwork for our Rwanda adoption. We will mail our application this week and wait breathlessly to be approved. But in the meanwhile, there is this website, Adoption Bug, that helps people raise funds for their adoptions by selling family focused t-shirts. How fantastic is that? So, we've submitted our paperwork to Adoption Bug and will soon be joining the other families in our journey to our children.

I am trying to be realistic, I know that we will not sell enough shirts to cover the adoption but any little bit of $$$ can help with the adoption costs.

My parents are coming over tonight for some turkey legs that Kevin is going to smoke on the grill. My parents have been a huge help and probably our biggest cheerleaders. Thanks Mom and Dad!
