Rwanda and Adoption

Rwanda is a small country in Eastern Africa along the Rift Valley.

Kevin and I have been talking about starting a concurrent adoption while we wait for Lily's referral from China. We have been looking at Rwanda pretty intently.

We have an informational meeting with C.A.N. (Children of all Nations) on March 20th. This agency is also part of the Great Wall Adoption Agency who we are using for Lily's adoption. Speaking of Chinese Adoption - there is a rumor that referrals may go to April 12th - if that's so - we're looking at an estimate of 80 referrals! It's been a very long time we've seen numbers like that!

I have been getting super excited - almost to the point - I can't sleep at night! Keep your fingers crossed!

Hi Melissa,
I am so glad that you found our blog. We have loved working with CAN. They have been so great with everything. We are so excited as this past week we just got our court date. We are leaving next week to go pick her up.
CAN has been on top of everything from the beginning. It is difficult because since Rwanda adoptions are so new and we will be the first ones with CAN it can be crazy. I have been so impressed with CAN because they are always on top of everything. Not only that, they have been so kind to work with. It wouldn't matter how many emails I sent them or questions I called them about, they were always great to get back to me.
Please let me know if you have any specific questions I can answer for you. That would be so amazing if you adopted from Rwanda. Please keep me posted on what you decide to do!!!
We also have a yahoo group that you are welcome to join. I started it for those adopting from Rwanda. it is rwandaadoptions@yahoogroups.com (let me know if you are unable to view it). Also, my email address is jamiesoucy@gmail.com. Feel free to email me any concerns or questions. We are a very happy family working with CAN.
Congratulations on China and hopefully Rwanda as well!!
